Scope of the system
Duskverin is an information-organisation platform. Its scope is defined by the content that has been introduced to it and the classification rules applied to that content. The platform does not operate beyond this boundary: it does not retrieve information from external sources, generate new material, or provide services outside the information-organisation context.
The system is best understood as a structured environment for reviewing and navigating organised material. It is not a general-purpose search engine, a content management tool for external data, or a service for any purpose other than the one described in the platform overview.
What the system contains
The content available through Duskverin reflects what has been provided to the platform. The completeness, accuracy, and currency of that content are properties of the source material, not of the system itself. Duskverin organises what it is given; it does not independently verify what that material contains.
What the system does not contain
The platform does not include content that has not been introduced to it. If a user is looking for material that is not present in the classification structure, the system will not be able to surface it. The absence of content does not indicate an error; it indicates that the material has not been submitted to the classification process.
Known limitations
Classification confidence
The classification layer assigns categories based on the properties of each item. In most cases, this produces a reliable assignment. In cases where the properties of an item are ambiguous or insufficient to produce a confident classification, the system records this uncertainty rather than forcing an assignment. Users may encounter items marked with lower classification confidence; these items have been included in the system but should be reviewed with the uncertainty in mind.
Cross-reference completeness
The cross-reference index identifies relationships between items across categories. This index is built from the same classification properties used to assign categories. Where the available properties do not clearly indicate a relationship, the cross-reference will not surface one. The absence of a cross-reference link does not mean that a relationship does not exist; it means the system could not identify it from the available data.
Session persistence
The review log described in the Functions section persists for the duration of an active session. It is not stored between sessions by default. Users who need to retain a record of their review path should use the classification report function before ending a session.
Interface rendering
The system interface is designed to render clearly in current versions of standard browsers. The operator does not guarantee compatibility with older browser versions or assistive technology configurations that fall outside standard support ranges. Known accessibility considerations are noted in the access confirmation material provided to new users.
The access review process in detail
Access to Duskverin is not self-service. Every request is reviewed before access is confirmed. This section explains the considerations that inform that review.
Why review is required
The classification structure of the platform is designed to serve specific use cases. Reviewing access requests allows the support team to ensure that users understand the scope of the system before they begin working with it, reducing the likelihood of confusion about what the platform can and cannot provide.
What the team considers
The team considers the stated purpose of the request, whether the described use case falls within the intended scope of the system, and whether any clarification is needed before access can be confirmed. The review is not an adversarial process; it is an opportunity to ensure that access will be useful to the requester.
Outcomes
The review may result in access being confirmed, access being confirmed with a defined scope, the team asking clarifying questions before a decision is made, or the team indicating that the request falls outside what the system is designed to support. In the last case, the response will explain why and suggest alternative approaches where these are known.
